This Brown Bear Has Learned To Stand Tall After Being Released From Her Metal “Torture Vest”

Most of us are accustomed to thinking of animals as our pets. Sure, certain animals may provide us with fantastic company, and we can reciprocate by providing them with a roof over their heads, love, and all the care they require to live a happy life.

However, believing that we own animals is a mistake, especially when it comes to wild creatures. Still, some people believe it is OK to exploit animals and violate their right to freedom in order to make a fast buck. Many wild creatures are confined in cramped, filthy cages in violation of all rules and regulations in order to be exploited.

Whether we’re talking about the circus, private zoos, or event animals, what lurks behind it all can be summed up in one word: exploitation.

Tuffy, the bear in the video below, was rescued after years of life in a bear bile farm. Bile bears are bears kept in captivity in order to harvest their bile, a digestive fluid produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder that is employed by some traditional Chinese medicine practitioners.

This video depicts Tuffy’s delight when he leaped into his pool at an animal refuge.
